The proximity of St. Francis Church Mackworth to the Markeaton Crematorium makes us a very good location for your loved one’s funeral.
We have a large screen TV and so we will be able to show pictures of your loved one. We also are able to access most music so we should be able to find that tune your loved one really liked.
We can only offer funerals according to the Church of England rites and we do not have a graveyard so burials will need to be at Nottingham Road Cemetery. We do not have the facility here to inter ashes.
To help you plan your funeral the Church of England funerals website is very helpful and has lots of tips on how to make your funeral a special time of giving thanks for your loved ones life.
RemeMbering our loved ones
We hold two special services of remembrance each year.
- At the end of October a “Memories service” of hymns, pieces of music, readings and prayers as well as specifically remembering your loved ones.
- Christmas and Easter Sunday when you are grieving the loss of a loved one Christmas can be a very tough time and we recognise that. So at Midnight Mass we make a point of remembering those we have loved with a beautiful but gentle service of midnight mass on Christmas night. We invite those who have loved ones to this special service where it’s ok to not be ok. We also invite people to Easter Sunday with the offer of having a Lily with their loved one’s name on in the Easter garden to remind ourselves that we shall rise again.
